Doors Open at 6pm, Show starts at 9pm, 21+ Non-smoking

Brian Cameron's Hourglass Band.... 20 years ago, some local teenagers in McDonough, Georgia had a band called “Hourglass” and they made an album. This year, those local boys are doing a local show to celebrate. Come to Southern Roots on October 5 and hear that album performed in its entirety! This is going to be the biggest night of local nostalgia the Square has ever seen!!!in 1995, there was a little coffee house on the square called “Seattle Style Expresso.” That was Genesis. The very first Hourglass show was in the building that is now Pasta Max. many were in attendance, including Collective Soul's Will Turpin, who says “I knew they had somethin’ special then!”Through the rest of the 90’s, Hourglass was recording, both their own original material penned by Brian Cameron, and as a studio group for other artists. They rehearsed on College Street in Mcdonough, often giving free concerts both on College Street and at the park in town.School dances in Henry County, private shows, and even performing in local McDonough bars and clubs, most notably a summer residency at Blue Sky Tavern, where the idea for the Southern Roots jam night was born. But in 1999 they recorded and released their first full length album. It featured songs like “Till Mornin’,” “I Will,” and “Shine On Me.” Songs that had filled the air of their hometown now filled the speakers of trucks drivin’ up and down 42, 155, 81, and 20.It’s been 20 years and it’s time for a celebration of the band and the music of this town and this county’s days before cell phones. RUMOURS

A Fleetwood Mac Tribute

Formed in 2014, Rumours (also known as Rumours ATL) has taken the U.S. by storm with their stage scorching renditions of Fleetwood Mac songs. Fans from across the nation claim that Rumours is the band to see if you are looking for an authentic recreation of live Fleetwood Mac shows.

In just under 5 years, Rumours has landed themselves the reputation of being the best Fleetwood Mac Tribute band and additionally has made fans internationally. In the summer of 2019, Rumours was invited to play a week in The Netherlands at some of the top venues and festivals in the country. The success of that tour brought them attention from plenty of new fans and promoters and they will be returning in 2020. Specially crafted shows and not one detail left behind, Rumours continues to sell out some of the top venues in the United States and gain fans at each show.

Rumours is fronted by Mekenzie Thrift (Stevie Nicks vocals), Adrienne Cottrell (keyboards and Christine McVie vocals), and Doug Easterly (acoustic guitar, percussion, and Lindsey Buckingham vocals). Alex Thrift on lead guitar, Jim Ramsdell on bass, and Daniel Morrison on drums makeup one of the best live band performances you will see at any show. The band prides themselves on being the most authentic Fleetwood Mac Tribute without coming across as a parody or a bore of a show. They will make you dance, sing along at the top of your lungs, and you’ll even learn something new about Fleetwood Mac at each performance.

Rumours will leave you wanting more. Rumours will make you relive those Fleetwood Mac memories.

Do you believe in miracles and the ways of magic? Rumours does.

“Rumours is a pleasure to work with and extremely dedicated to bringing a Fleetwood Mac experience to our audiences at every show. Which they sell out each time.” Peter Moshay, Grammy Winner and sound engineer for Daryl Hall and John Oates, Live from Daryl’s House

“We love having Rumours play our venue. They’re always so fun and get along with the staff great! They also sell a lot of tickets and their shows are awesome.” Jason Westbrook, Production Manager Iron City, Birmingham Alabama

“We love having Rumours and I love lighting their shows. They always make it magical.” Farrell Roberts, Variety Playhouse Atlanta GA

the Velcro Pygmies

Join us on Friday January 24th as Southern Roots presents

The Velcro Pygmies (9 pm Show)

The World Famous Velcro Pygmies want to take you on a little journey, and they promise it won't hurt. This golden ticket will get you a trip back to a time when music was in its prime. Back when hair was big but rock 'n' roll was bigger … back when a 17-second guitar solo transformed a man and his machine into a Rock God … back when fallen angels swarmed the front row like Aquanet to a feathered bang.

The Velcro Pygmies travel the country year round - from the Gulf Shores to the Great Lakes - to share the sights, sounds and stain-washed denim of the glorious '80s, schooling audiences on the difference between a rock band and a rock show. From start to finish, they command the stage with a prowess uncommon in today's industry, and they leave you begging for more. No gimmicks or tricks, just undiluted rock 'n' roll energy that unites every race, creed, age and gender.

The Velcro Pygmies are more than just a band - they are a way of life. They're a nitro-fueled Trans Am prowling the streets at dusk, looking for some action - satisfaction all night. They ain't looking for nothing but a good time, and it don't get better than this.

JASON ALDEAN

 The Ultimate Aldean Tribute Experience

The Nation's #1 Jason Aldean Tribute Artist

With hundreds of concerts under his belt, Greg West, a tribute to Jason Aldean, has had an amazing first 5 years performing nationally from coast to coast for cheering crowds, some of up to 6,500 fans.

The highlight of Greg’s career was on November 6th, 2018 when he performed at Jason Aldean’s Rooftop Kitchen and Bar located downtown Nashville. This was an amazing collaboration between TC Restaurants and Hello Nashville to bring the tribute to the corporate event that had 2000 attendees. The band made history that night. Not only did the band perform a full show at the venue but the Ultimate Aldean Experience is the first tribute to ever perform downtown Nashville at a current country artist’s establishment.

Greg West, has won multiple radio contests, landing him prizes including, "Best Look Alike" and even a Grand Prize of an all-expenses paid trip to Las Vegas to attend the 2016 ACM Awards. This was an exciting event for Greg because this was the first year Jason Aldean received the Entertainer of the Year award.

Though most careers of tribute artists end in Las Vegas, Greg's career performing the Ultimate Aldean Experience began in Las Vegas. In 2013, the Greg West starred in the show "Country Superstars" located on the Vegas strip. From there his career has soared, Greg has done several television interviews, played guitar for country artist James Otto, performed at corporate events, state fairs, casinos and many other venues.

Greg held a 2-month residency at Harrah's Casino in Reno, a 2-week residency in Harrah's Casino Laughlin, and has opened for the country act Lone Star performing with a couple friends that pay tribute to Toby Keith and Kenny Chesney.

By far, the accolades from Live Nation recognizing Greg West "The World's Greatest Tribute to Jason Aldean", has fueled Greg to continue to work hard and strive to stay true and authentic to Jason Aldean's music, for many years to come

Doors open at 6 PM and the performance starts at 9 PM.
